Zaabnoot criticizes “Hadi’s govt” for ignoring UAE’s violations in Socotra

MAHRA, March 27 (YPA) – Head of the peaceful sit-in committee in Shehn district of Mahra province, Sheikh Hameed Zaabnoot, on Saturday condemned the UAE militias’ raiding a ceremony of Socotra Sit-in Committee and arresting several of the committee’s members.

Zaabnoot said, on his Twitter account, “We denounce the actions of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias supported by the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and the arrest of members of the Socotra sit-in committee, who reject the presence of the Saudi and Emirati occupations.”

“It has become absurd that the Saudi and Emirati forces remain in the Socotra Archipelago,” he added.

Zaabnoot criticized “Hadi’s government” for ignoring the violations against the people of Socotra, including arbitrary arrests targeting everyone opposes the presence of the UAE.

On Thursday, the UAE-backed STC militia stormed a ceremony to declare the Socotra sit-in committee and arrested three of its members in the island’s capital, Hadibo city.
