SANAA, March 24 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, on Wednesday stressed the importance of empowering the poorest groups and meeting the needs in a way that contributes to improving the standard of living.
This came during his chairing of a meeting held in Sanaa to discuss the project to strengthen institutional and economic flexibility funded by the European Union, which aims to achieve economic stability and recovery and provide services.
The meeting dealt with the mechanisms of responding to the needs of society in terms of basic services and choosing the targeted districts in the provinces to activate the role of local institutions to carry out their service function towards citizens.
The meeting included the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdulmohsen Tawoos, the UNDP Resident Representative in Yemen Auke Lootsma, the project’s manager at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), and head of the Good Governance and Rule of Law team.
