ADEN, March 15 (YPA) – Public transport fares have risen after the new “Hadi government” rises the price of oil derivatives in Aden province, southern Yemen.
Residents of Aden city complained that the price of a single drive on public transport increased to 300 riyals per passenger.
The residents reported that the local authority did nothing to put an end to the pricing and oblige taxi drivers to work at the previous pricing, which seen an increase in the previous period to 200 riyals for the passenger price.
They blamed “Hadi government” for rising prices, deteriorating Yemeni economy, overburdening citizens and compounding their suffering.
The southern provinces have been experiencing widespread public discontent, protests against the new price imposed by Hadi government and the collapse of the illegal local currency in those areas.
