SANAA, Jan. 30 (YPA) – The UN experts charged with monitoring the international sanctions imposed on Yemen, stated in their report that Ansarullah achieved field gains during the past year 2020.
The report affirmed that the Saudi-led coalition-backed Hadi government lost strategic territories by Houthis forces and the Southern Transitional Council (STC), at a time as the government engaged in corruption operations, including money laundering.
The report explained that the government played a negative role and a violation of right in Yemen’s access to adequate food supplies.
Regarding money laundering, the report revealed that the government of Hadi implemented a plan to transfer funds from a Saudi deposit in the Central Bank estimated at 423 million dollars of public funds that had been transferred illegally to merchants.
“Theses $ 423 million dollars looted is public money, which has been illegally transferred to private companies, and that the documents presented by the Central Bank of Yemen is a destructive strategy, according to the report.
The report indicated that the STC led by Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi and Hani Bin Brik violated articles 1 and 6 of Resolution 2216 issued in 2015, which calls on all Yemeni parties to refrain from unilateral actions that undermine the policy.
The committee documented a disturbing pattern of repression of journalists and human rights defenders by the Hadi government and the STC militias, which included flagrant violations of freedom of expression and weakened the ability of journalists to identify and report international violations.
