NMC warns citizens, farmers from frost wave threatens 6 provinces
SANAA, Jan. 9 (YPA) – The National Meteorological Center announced on Saturday continuing very cold weather and frost formation on the mountain heights, and cold weather in some highland and desert areas during the next 24 hours.
In the weather forecast, the center expected that the weather will be very cold, with the possibility of frost forming in the mountainous heights of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda and Dhalea governorates.
The center also pointed out that the weather will be cold on the highland areas of Ibb, Taiz, Shabwa, Lahj, Abyan and Hadramout provinces and in the desert areas of Marib, Jawf and Mahra provinces.
The center warned farmers, herders and beekeepers in the mountainous governorates of the effects of the frost wave and severe cold.
The center also warned elderly, children and the sick of the very low temperatures and called on workers who go to work during the early morning hours to wear winter clothes to prevent cold shocks.
It warned fishermen and sea goers south of the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab of strong winds and high waves.
