Pro-Trump protesters storm US Capitol building

WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 (YPA) – US authorities have locked down the Capitol as Pro-Trump protesters clashed with the  police and stormed the building, local media reported.

The protests coincide with Wednesday’s congressional vote expected to certify the Electoral College results, which Trump continues to dispute.

The Associated Press reported that Supporters of President Trump clashed with police officers in front of the Capitol as they tried to break in.

The agency noted that police sprayed pepper spray on protesters to remove them from the Capitol.

It  explained that the Capitol had been locked down , while its members were meeting inside to vote on the results of the presidential election.
