SANAA, Dec. 7 (YPA) – Two cargo ships collided in the water canal at the King Abdul Aziz Port of Dammam in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia on Sunday evening, Saudimedia media reported.
No casualties were reported. The collision between the Saudi and Tanzanian ships has not affected the port’s navigation operations, the Saudi Ports Authority said in a statement.
The authority launched an investigation into the incident to identify the causes of the collision.
The Authority confirmed that the incident took place at the port entrance, indicating confusion as these vessels attempted to flee the port.
The incident coincided with a recent escalation in attacks on Saudi ports amid threats from Yemeni army forces till Saudi-led coalition’s aggression is topped and blockade is lifted.
