SANAA, Nov. 15 (YPA) – The death toll from the typhoon “FAMCO” in the Philippines rose on Sunday to 97 people, dead or injured, and a previous toll reported 53 deaths.
The news portal “Rapler” quoted the statement of the National Council for the Prevention of Hazards and Elimination of Natural Disasters, that 67 people were killed, 12 others were injured, and 12 people were considered missing.
Earlier, it was reported that 42 people were killed and 43 injured on the island of Luzon.
The council indicated that more than 25,000 homes were damaged by the hurricane. The total damage to the island’s agriculture and infrastructure is currently estimated at more than $ 34 million.
FAMCO is the twenty-first hurricane to hit the Philippines this year. Tropical Storm Goni swept the Philippines last October, killing 25 people and leaving six people missing in landslides and floods.
