SANAA, Nov. 14 (YPA) – More than 130 Secret Service officers have been infected with the emerging coronavirus and have entered quarantine in the wake of the Trump election campaign, the Washington Post Newspaper reported on Friday.
The newspaper pointed out that these officers helped protect the White House and the President during his recent travels, and orders were given to them to submit to quarantine, according to three sources familiar with the file.
The newspaper said that the outbreak of the virus among the officers “is related to some extent to the series of campaign activities that President Trump organized before the November 3 elections.”
The Secret Service employs about 1,300 officers who watch over the White House and the residence of Vice President Mike Pence.
It is reported that a series of virus infections were detected inside the White House at an earlier time.
