China: 8 killed in coal mine accident

SANAA, Nov. 11 (YPA) – Dozens of workers were killed and injured in an accident at a coal mine in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, Chinese media said Wednesday.

At least eight workers were killed in the mine accident, Xinhua reported, citing rescue workers/

A spokesman for the rescue committees said the search for survivors began in the evening and the teams managed to recover many of the bodies.

The mine, located in Tongchuan City, has some 42 Chinese workers, and rescue committees have managed to get 34 workers alive.
