SANAA, May 19 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Motwakil discussed with the World Health Organization (WHO) representative to Yemen, Dr. Nevio Zagaria, the organization’s support for rehabilitation of rural hospitals.
The two sides discussed ways to improve health services provided by the rural hospitals and provision of medicines especially for chronic diseases, as well as activation of emergency response centers in all provinces.
The minister confirmed his ministry’s keenness to enhance its partnership with the WHO with respect to qualifying the health and technical cadres and supporting the rural hospitals.
Dr. al-Motwakil expressed his hope that the organization would have a voice in the international forums to convey the grievance of the Yemeni people and call on the international community to stop the aggression and lift the blockade.
For his part, the WHO representative confirmed the organization’s readiness to meet the needs determined by the ministry within its available possibilities.
