Health Minister meets WHO representative
SANAA, May 19 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Taha Al-Mutawakil on Saturday met with the representative of the World Health Organization, Navio Zagaria in capital Sanaa.
In the meeting, the officials discussed the ways to improve health services, emergencies, intensive care and improve the quality of work in rural and central hospitals to relieve the burden on patients.
The officials reviewed the kinds of aid to be provided by the WHO in rehabilitating rural hospitals, improving their services and providing medicines, especially in relation to chronic diseases, as well as supporting and activating the emergency response centers in all Yemen’s provinces.
Al-Mutawakil stressed on the keenness of the Ministry of Health to strengthen partnership with the World Health Organization, especially regarding the rehabilitation of health ,technical personnel and the support of rural hospitals.
For his part, the WHO representative confirmed the Organization’s readiness to meet the needs determined by the ministry within the available possibilities.
