We welcome any efforts to bring peace to Yemen: Supreme Political Council’s Member

SANAA, Oct. 7 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council’s Member, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, welcomed any efforts to bring peace to Yemen, referring that the Council has presented the comprehensive solution document, which includes many solutions to Yemen’s problems.

“We welcome peace since the beginning of the aggression and we have presented peace initiatives, but the other side did not present any real peace initiative,” Al-Houthi said on Tuesday, n an interview with the German ‘Der Spiegel’ magazine.

Al-Houthi thanked Germany for stopping the sale of weapons to Saudi Arabia, which are used to kill the Yemeni people, noting to the depth of relations between the Yemeni and German peoples.

Concerning truce and ceasefire initiatives, Al-Houthi said “We are ready to cease fire on all fronts, stop missile and drone attacks and enter into serious solutions according to the comprehensive solution document.”

“What we care for is lifting the siege on the Yemeni people, and stopping the aggression, and they (Saudi-led coalition countries) have to reconstruct,” he added.

The Supreme Political Council’s member pointed out that “the aggression coalition” was the one who rejected the joint declaration presented by the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths.

Regarding America’s intention to classify Houthis as a terrorist organization, Mohammed Al-Houthi pointed out that America describes people as terrorists whenever it wants. “It described Taliban as terrorists, but when it wanted to finish the game, it made Taliban peace knights.”

Al-Houthi explained that this description is a political description that America uses to suppress peoples opposing its policies that kill and destroy countries, as is the case for the Republic of Yemen.

“America is using the pretext of terrorism to target civilians in Yemen, while its ambassador meets those wanted by the US treasury, such as Ali Mohsen and other leaders of the aggression mercenaries,” he said.

In response to a question that the war on Yemen is to put pressure on Iran, Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi stressed that this talk is not correct, saying “There are no bridges between us and Iran that make targeting us represent pressure on it.”

This is one of the clear American fallacies aimed at misleading the world opinion, he added.

With regard to American reports that indicate Iran’s support for Yemen with drones and ballistic missiles, the Political Council’s member said, “This is inconsistent with the blockade. They have to choose between two things. Either we are besieged – and this is the truth – and they failed in the siege, or we are not besieged. ”

America is talking about this unreal support to cover up funds it takes from Saudi Arabia to support this war on Yemen, Al-Houthi explained.

He said, “If we are supported by Iran, let America go to strike Iran, why do you come to strike us in Yemen?”

On targeting civilians, Al-Houthi said, “If targeting civilians was our methodology, there would be thousands of massacres, but the opposite is true. Whoever owns a weapon whose error rate is zero is the one who intentionally commits thousands of massacres against the Yemeni people. ”

Al-Houthi indicated that Saudi Arabia and America have crossed all red lines in the war on Yemen by targeting all vital installations, civilian objects and citizens, and using prohibited weapons.

He said that “Al-Qaeda and ISIS, who are considered American arms, are present in the areas controlled by the coalition and are receiving protection from the aggression countries.”

Al- Houthi affirmed that among the war prisoners, whom Saudi Arabia and America are calling for their release – on the basis of exchange – are many terrorist elements, and the United Nations and the International Commitment of the Red Cross know this.

He said that Saudi Arabia and the coalition support Al-Qaeda and ISIS, indicating that there are joint meetings between military commanders from both sides, and the American warplanes support these terrorist elements who participate in battles.

On the suffering of the Yemeni people and the threat to cut off aid, Al-Houthi said, “We will not remain idly by in front of any threat to our country. We have many means, and this option is determined by the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.”

In this regard, Al-Houthi held the coalition countries fully responsible for the consequences of using the blockade as a weapon of war against the Yemeni people, calling on the European Union and the media to reveal this fact.

He mentioned that the National Authority in Sanaa carries out its duties towards the Yemeni people by achieving security and stability, providing services to all citizens without discrimination, combating al-Qaeda and ISIS, and defending the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Yemen, all of which do not exist on the other side.

At the end of the interview, Al-Houthi extended the invitation to the German media to visit Yemen, expressing thanks to the German people who did not stand with the aggression against Yemen.
