UAE transfers new STC militia elements to Socotra

SOCOTRA, Sep. 24 (YPA) – The UAE has recently transferred elements of the Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia to Socotra archipelago province, southeast of Yemen, said Sheikh Hamid Za’bnout, head of Shehin sit-in committee in Mahra province, on Wednesday.

This took place in conjunction with the arrival of military telecommunications equipment and the start of creating a military base in the west of the archipelago, Sheikh Za’bnout added in a tweet on Twitter.

American websites had reported the intention of the UAE and Israel to establish a military and intelligence base on Socotra Island.
