UAE begins largest displacement of socotra residents

SOCOTRA, Sept. 14 (YPA) – The UAE occupation forces are moving to carry out the largest displacement of residents of the occupied island of Socotra, and transfer them to one of the areas in Hadhramaut province, according to media sources.

Anis Mansour, editor-in-chief of “Hana Aden”, confirmed in a tweet that the UAE is conducting a census of the population of Socotra, with the aim of transferring them to temporary camps, and build a residential city for them in Qusair area of Hadhramaut province.

He explained that the UAE seeks that the Island of Socotra to be a joint military base with Israel, and keep part of the island to be a natural reserve under the supervision of the UAE Ministry of Tourism.
