STC arrests official in Socotra

SOCOTRA, Sep. 11 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia arrested on Friday a local official in the “Saudi-based Hadi government” in Socotra archipelago governorate.

The sources said that the STC had arrested Ahmed Hadid Bamqed, a director general of the culture office in Qalansiyah district.

According to the sources, the arrest of “Baqdid” came on the background of his participation in the demonstration on last Monday rejecting the control of the STC over the island.

Earlier, the STC militia launched the campaigns if arrests against three officials of the “Hadi government” in Socotra, as part of a list of 14 people, including activists who organized a demonstration on last Monday with hundreds of citizens participated, against the STC’s continued control over the province.
