8 soldiers killed, wounded in ambush in central Mali

SANAA, Sept. 10 (YPA) – The Malian army announced that three soldiers were killed and five others were wounded in an ambush by gunmen on the road to a military unit in the Diabali region, in the center of the country.
A statement issued by the army said that the ambush was carried out by armed men and that they seized two military vehicles and fled.
This is the fourth attack targeting the Malian army after the military coup that overthrew Ibrahim Boubacar Keita on August 18 last year.

The revolutionaries in Mali announced that they would abide by the state’s previous pledges and agreements towards foreign forces that have been trying since 2012 to restore stability in the northern regions, especially the French force “Barkhane”, the UN mission, and European and African military units.
The Malian army suffers from successive attacks carried out by militants belonging to the “Support for Islam and Muslims” organization who have controlled parts of northern Mali since 2012, and despite the French military intervention in the region, armed attacks are still continuing and recently their scope has expanded from northern Mali to central Mali and then to neighboring Burkina Faso and Niger. .
The military council that manages the country’s affairs in Mali announced the lifting of the curfew, which had been imposed in the country since the ouster of President Boubacar Keita last month.
