Pro-coalition commander defects coalition forces, returns to Sanaa

SANAA, Aug. 18 (YPA) – Hussein Mabkhout al-Thabti, one of military commanders in ranks of Saudi-led coalition forces in Marib province, returned to the capital Sanaa on Tuesday, taking advantage of the general amnesty decision.

Al-Thabti, commander of the coalition forces in al-Hajla area on al-Abdiya front in Marib, had announced his defection from the coalition forces and joined the ranks of the Yemeni army and the popular committees, according to informed sources.

The sources indicated that al-Thabti handed over his military position with all his military equipment to the army forces and popular committees in the al-Hajla area, under the leadership of Abu Morsal al-Thabti.
