SANAA, July 27 (YPA) – Minister of Health Taha Al-Mutawakil on Monday stressed on the importance of enhancing efforts for putting ways to improve the healthy situation in Yemen.
The move came during his meeting in Sanaa with High Authority for Medicines and the Federation of Pharmaceutical Importers and the Chamber of Commerce.
In the meeting, Al-Mutawakil stressed the importance of participating drug importers in supporting the Ministry’s efforts to provide medical services to patients, especially in light of the circumstances the country is going through as a result of the continued aggression and the blockade.
He also affirmed that the ministry would work to correct the situation of the drug market and prevent monopoly and the entry of contraband and counterfeit medicines, calling … on the importers to put prices on the drug packages.
The minister reaffirmed that the ministry would exert efforts to form field committees to permanently monitor the drug market, within the framework of the steps taken by the ministry to correct the drug situation in Yemen.
The meeting touched on the difficulties facing importers of medical supplies, emphasizing the importance of coordination between the Authority for Medicines and importers to provide medicine storage and combat smuggled and counterfeit medicines.
