MAHRAH, July 22 (YPA) – The committee of the peaceful sit-in in Mahrah province, eastern Yemen, announced its refusal of holding a demonstration in support for the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) next Saturday in the city of al-Ghaydah, the capital of the province.
The sit-in committee at a meeting on Tuesday accused the Saudi-Emirati coalition, which it described as “the occupation” and supporting the STC’s militias to hold the demonstration.
In a statement, the committee threatened to resume all its public activities, first of all, the implementation of an open sit-in in front of the gate of al-Ghaydah airport, which was turned into a military barracks by Saudi occupation forces, in case of the occupation’s tools insist to hold the event.
The committee held the “Saudi-Emirati occupation” full responsible for any consequences or frictions resulting from this.
It affirmed its firm position in preserving and defending the state institutions if the so-called “legitimacy” did not do so.
The statement indicated that it would call for the resumption of the popular uprising in all the directorates to defend the province from any dangers if the occupation and its tools continued to escalate.
It added that all the sons of the province and all free Yemenis will stand firmly to confront anyone who intends to harm the security and stability of the province.
The stamen called on all the people of other provinces to participate and stand in the face of the Saudi-Emirati occupation, stressing that it continues its struggle and peaceful defense of the province until the Saudi-Emirati occupation is removed.
