SHABWAH, June 14 (YPA) – At least five family members were wounded on Sunday as a result of artillery shelling launched by al-Islah militants, targeting Nassab district in Shabwah province, eastern Yemen.
Local sources said al-Islah militants fired mortar shells at the homes of citizens in residential neighborhoods in Al-Dweel and Al-Jadeed markets.
According to the sources, tribal gunmen loyal to the UAE-funded “Southern Transitional Council”, destroyed a military armoured vehicle near the al-Koura school.
The sources added that dozens of gunmen from the Tribe of Nassab are flocking to the Qarn Hwfrah area, in conjunction with arrival of military reinforcements on the front lines of confrontations with al-Islah militants.
During the confrontation, tribal militants relied on carrying surprise ambushes, which left heavy losses on the live and military al-Islah militants.
