Johns Hopkins: Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 4 million

SANAA, May 10 (YPA) – More than 4 million people are infected with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) in the world, Johns Hopkins University reported Sunday morning.

The university monitored 4.24 million cases, an increase of 85.900 over the past 24 hours, indicating a slight decrease in daily infection rates compared to 93,800 the previous day.

The death toll was 279,311, while more than 1,370,000 people recovered.

The United States leads the list of countries most affected by the virus with over 1,309,000 infections, followed by Spain (223,500), Italy (218,200) and Britain (216.5 00), while Russia remains in fifth place with about 198,600.
