UAE-backed militias smuggle containers without inspection in Aden

ADEN, April 17 (YPA) – Labor sources at Caltex cargo port in Aden city, southern Yemen, on Friday revealed the involvement of military leaders of the so-called Sothern Transitional Council (STC) loyal to the UAE in smuggling containers without being subject to inspection procedures.

“The last smuggling operation was last Saturday,” the sources said.

The source explained that the military leader called “Qasim Saif”, a commander of one of the battalions of Jabal Hadid Brigade, which is led by President of the STC Aidroos al-Zubaidi, took out a container without being subjected to inspection in coordination with their elements inside the port, headed by a person named Mansour al-Dahhak.

Al-Dahhak had played a role in looting the cash liquidity containers of the Central Bank by the STC militia, and he had previously assaulted the port workers, which led to their strike to protest against his abuses.
