Astronomer warns of weather effects on Yemen next week

SANAA, April 17 (YPA) – The Yemeni astronomer and international expert in astrophysics Adnan al-Shawafi has issued strong warnings about the effects of the weather on Yemen for a coming week starting from Friday.

In a statement he issued Friday, the astronomer al-Shawafi said that the most important indicators of Yemen weather from Friday, April 17, 2020, till Thursday, April 23, 2020, includes a state of rainy weather and precipitation that is almost similar to what Yemen experienced last week and its heyday will be in mid-week from Sunday April 19, 2020, to next Tuesday.

Al-Shawafi called on citizens to take care and avoid the risks of heavy rains accompanied by lightning and torrents, a decrease in horizontal visibility, and landslides.

He indicated to the need for making maintenance for the channels of rainwater in the main cities on an ongoing basis, especially after what was washed away by torrents last week, and to follow the developments and weather forecasts.
