SANAA, April 11 (YPA – Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of Supreme political council commented on a positive view of the ongoing UN efforts to agree on a comprehensive initiative to bring about comprehensive peace in Yemen, starting with the cessation of war and lifting the blockade on Yemeni ports and airports.
“We look positively at all initiatives and efforts for lasting peace and an end to the siege,” Mohammed al-Houthi said in a tweet at midnight Friday.
However, he stressed that the United Nations and its special envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, should be fair to the United Nations, who announced that he had received the parties’ remarks on his comprehensive initiative to stop the war.
“The efforts that are being made must be fair, and we have presented the Republic of Yemen with a comprehensive vision that will ensure a real solution to peace,” he said, referring to “the National Vision document for a comprehensive solution presented to the United Nations through its envoy.
“We are still waiting for a response with practical positions and not with continued shelling and military battles,” Mohammed Ali al-Houthi added.
