Mohammed al-Houthi reveals important facts about war developments in Yemen

SANAA, March 28 (YPA) – Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Ali al-Houthi on Saturday, in an interview with “Russia Today” channel, revealed important facts about the developments of war in Yemen.

Al-Houthi confirmed that the Yemeni army and the popular committees are ready to cease fire and implement the prisoner exchange agreement with the aggression forces if they respond to the initiatives presented at the United Nations table, the most important of which is lifting the siege, paying the salaries of employees, allowing commercial ships’ entry to the port of Hodeidah.

On the initiative of the Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi regarding a swap with Saudi Arabia, for the benefit of Hamas, to release a pilot and four Saudi officers in exchange for Saudi Arabia’s release of Hamas detainees, al-Houthi said “It is a matter of religious and moral obligation towards the Palestinian cause and that the initiative is in Riyadh’s interest, as we will release Saudi officers.”

There is a large stockpile of Saudi, Sudanese and Yemeni prisoners, and they would be released when there is full agreement on this file, he added.

Al-Houthi held America responsible for prolonging the war in Yemen.

In his response to a question about who can bear the continuation of the battles, he said: “The US President’s rejection of congressional decisions to stop supporting Saudi Arabia and the UAE in arms and intelligence deals, confirms that America is behind the war, especially in light of its continued political and military support to the aggression countries over the past five years until today.”

Al-Houthi commended Russia’s position in the Security Council sessions, which was the only country that voted in favor of Yemen and stressed the need to stop the war launched by the Saudi-Emirati coalition.

On the implementation of the provisions of Sweden Agreement, al-Houthi stated that they demanded the full implementation of the Agreement, and some provisions were agreed upon; however, the other party turned against the agreement.

“They (the other party) turned against the points that they themselves presented, including an agreement between the governor of the Central Bank in Sanaa and Mohammed Zemam under British supervision to pay salaries and other economic aspects, as well as another agreement on Taiz,” he added.

Al-Houthi indicated, in the interviewو that the aggression countries think that the initiatives presented by the Supreme Political Council come from weakness, so they are working to escalate the battles.

In response to a question related to the health situation in Yemen and the Corona epidemic, Mohammed al-Houthi said that America is the reason for trying to introduce the epidemic into Yemen, as it allowed six planes to arrive in the country in one day, while only two medical flights were allowed to leave.

He added that Sanaa possesses examination devices for Corona, but they are few, and that they are awaiting the assistance of the World Health Organization, which has been contacted in this regard; but it did not respond to date.
