SANAA, March 9 (YPA) -The head of the National Prisoners’ Affairs Committee, Abdul Qader al-Mortada, revealed on Monday a role of Islah party in blocking of implementation the UN-sponsored major prisoner exchange deal, which included to liberate 1420 war prisoners from both sides.
Al-Mortada said in a statement that the agreement signed recently in Jordan on the prisoners’ file have been suspended because of the failure to complete and lift statements by the other party, especially the Saudi-backed Islah party representative in Marib.
“We hope the United Nations will move to press on the other party to carry out the agreement,” he added.
