PM, UN’s Resident Representative discuss cooperation priorities

SANAA, March 9 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Monday discussed with UN Resident Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen Lise Grande the humanitarian interventions of the organizations operating in Yemen and the priorities of joint cooperation for the coming period.

During the meeting, Dr. bin Habtoor confirmed the Salvation Government’s interest in facilitating humanitarian activities of the UN organizations and overcoming the difficulties facing them so as to enhance their role in alleviating the current suffering of Yemenis.

The meeting emphasized on the importance of consolidating the partnership between the organizations and the government in order to face humanitarian challenges, resulted from the direct and indirect repercussions of the continued Saudi-Emirati aggression and siege.

The meeting also touched on the international conference scheduled for early April, which will discuss the donors’ pledges to meet the humanitarian needs in Yemen, and the government’s role in achieving the humanitarian goals of the conference.
