Medicine safety is responsibility of Supreme Board of Drugs: PM
SANAA, Feb. 29 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor on Saturday stressed the importance of medicine safety for protecting citizens and their health, which is the responsibility of the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances (SBDMA).
During his meeting with Chairman of SBDMA Dr. Mohammed al-Madani, the Prime Minister hailed the efforts made by the Board in this field.
Dr. bin Habtoor noted to another responsibility of the Board, which is to support the local pharmaceutical product and strengthen the partnership with the private sector in order to achieve the national drug security.
In the meeting, Dr. al-Madani briefed the Prime Minister on the Board’s activity and its efforts to provide its various services to workers in the pharmaceutical sector, including local producers and importers, taking into account the conditions of drug safety.
He confirmed the Board’s keenness on the drug safety through the existing coordination with the relevant authorities to confront counterfeited medicine and combat smuggled drugs that lack health requirements and quality standards.
