Military battalion in Socotra rebels against Hadi forces, declares its loyalty to Emirates

SOCOTRA, Feb. 28 (YPA) – A military battalion of Hadi’s forces in the Socotra Archipelago announced on Thursday its rebellion and its allegiance to the so-called “Southern Transitional Council”, supported by the Emirates.
The adviser to the Minister of Information of the Hadi government, Mukhtar Al-Rahbi, said on Twitter that the third battalion of the 1st Marine Brigade announced its rebellion against what he called “legitimacy” and announced its loyalty to the southern transition backed by the UAE.
Al-Rahbi added, “Colonel Abdullah Ahmad Daman Kanzhar,” the commander of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Brigade, Marine Brigade, rebelled  against the state and raised the transitional flag, which is the second rebellion in the 1st Marine Brigade after the Coast Guard Battalion.
Al-Rahbi stressed that this rebellion comes days after the return of “Yahya Mubarak Saeed,” the president of the so-called transitional council in Socotra, from Abu Dhabi, in possession of funds to buy loyalties and support the rebellion against legality.
Earlier, the battalion leaders of the so-called beach guard joined the Southern Transitional Council and declared their rebellion against legality.
This comes with Emirati moves led by Emirati delegate Khalfan Al Mazroui to blow up the situation in the province, after the failure of its previous attempts.
