Al-Murtada: Ready to hold talks with Sudan over an exchange of prisoners through ICRC

SANAA, Jan. 31 (YPA) – The National Salvation Government has on Thursday said that it ready to hold talks with Sudan over an exchange of prisoners through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs, Abdulqader al-Murtada confirmed: “We informed the Sudanese authorities through the ICRC that we have Sudanese prisoners, and that we are ready to hold negotiations with them for a swap deal,”.

“We hope the Sudanese authorities will put pressure on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to secure the release of their children,” al-Murtada added.
In a related context, a member of the prisoners ’committee of Ahmed Abu Hamra said that a large number of Sudanese prisoners were captured during the last period by military operations on the western coast fronts, Haradh, Midi, and in the frontier fronts. .

Abu Hamra called on “the Sudanese people and human rights organizations to pressure the Sudanese authorities demand the end of the Sudanese participation in the aggression against Yemen, withdrawal its soldiers from Yemen and work to free the prisoners from the Sudanese soldiers.”

The Sudanese authorities last month had a force of five thousand fighting within the framework of the Saudi-led coalition aggression against Yemen.
