Violent explosion rocks Aden city

ADEN, Jan. 30 (YPA) – A violent explosion rocked on Thursday the port city of Aden, southern Yemen, and was followed by a heavy shooting, sources reported.

The sources explained that a strong explosion was heard throughout a large area, followed by gunfire near Al-Khair Mosque on Abyan coast road in Khor Maksar area.

There is no accurate information about the cause of the explosion or reports on casualties.

This comes two days after a military commander named Abdullah al-Najdi and director of Crater district Khaled Sido were subjected to an assassination attempt in the city of Aden.

Aden has been living a state of insecurity and chaos since the coalition forces took control of the city in the second half of 2015.
