Humanitarian Affairs Council, UNDP discuss cooperation mechanisms

SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Abdulmohsen Tawoos discussed on Thursday with Surayo Buzurukova, team leader for governance and peace-building unit at UNDP, mechanisms of cooperation in the humanitarian field.

The dealt with the general framework for coordinating the humanitarian and developmental work to improve citizens’ conditions, as well as the need to expedite the implementation of agreed projects and activities to alleviate the difficult humanitarian situation in Yemen.

In the meeting, Tawoos stressed the importance of continuous coordination to overcome any difficulties that may arise in the field and to enhance the positive role of organizations working in Yemen to implement all agreements to ensure the alleviation of the human suffering caused by the siege and aggression.

He noted to the Council’s readiness to cooperate and provide facilities to humanitarian organizations in Yemen to enable them to carry out their humanitarian and relief activities.

For her part, Buzurukova appreciated the Council’s efforts to facilitate the organizations’ work, confirming her keenness to continue the work in order to achieve common humanitarian goals and meet the actual needs of beneficiaries.
