SANAA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Fierce clashes broke out between a patrol of the Syrian Internal Security Forces and gunmen from the terrorist organization “ISIS” in the eastern countryside of Hama, leaving several dead and wounded of the gunmen, s field source in Hama reported on Sunday.
According to the source, “violent clashes took place when a petrol of Syrian Internal Security Forces was heading to a village in Hama eastern countryside, to arrest wanted security personnel.”
“When the patrol arrived on the outskirts of the village, some gunmen stationed on the hills surrounding the village, fired at them, and clashes erupted between the patrol and the gunmen, killing and injuring a number of gunmen, in addition to injuring four members of the patrol,” the source added.
The source pointed out that a force of the Syrian army and the forces that are stationed near the village rushed to the scene of the clash because of the heavy fire, and backed the elements of the patrol, which at the same time obtained air support from Syrian warplanes.
The source confirmed that the militants belonging to the organization “ISIS” likely to have arrived in the area a short time ago through the Badia Hama, which is geographically connected with Badia al-Sokhna in the eastern countryside, where militants belonging to the organization are still active.
