Saudi-led Coalition, Hadi’s forces refuse to open prisons to ICRC
SANAA, Nov. 16 (YPA) -The head of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs in Sanaa, Abdul Qadir al-Mortadha, confirmed that the coalition and Hadi’s forces have reneged on the UN-sponsored prisoner exchange agreements reached in Sweden and Amman.
In tweets late on Friday, al-Mortadha confirmed that they (coalition and Hadi government) have refused to open their prisons to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
“In the latest round of negotiations between us and the other side in Amman, we agreed to allow the Red Cross to visit all prisons on both sides,” al-Mortadha said.
“We have committed to this while the other party has not allowed the ICRC to visit any of their prisons,” he said.
