Central Bank Governor refutes Baqazqoz allegations

SANAA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen in the capital Sanaa Dr. Rashid Abu Luhum on Friday refuted what was published by Nasser Baqazqoz on his Facebook page.

Abu Luhom considered what was published as “lies and fabrications show personal hatred and language reveals the political motives behind the publication that targets the leaders facing the economic war on the Yemeni people and the state trends to combat corruption.”

Dr. Ab Luhom explained that the irrefutable documents prove the falsehood of Baqazqoz’s claim that “the Bank Governor receives 30 million riyals as monthly allocations from the Ministry of Finance”.

He recalled that he had written an official letter to the Ministry of Finance immediately after his appointment as governor of the bank demanding the removal of all his dues from the finance ministry as a former minister, as the bank’s law prevents the governor and the bank board from receiving any amount whatsoever from outside the bank.

“Baqazqoz must prove what he claims if he has even a piece of evidence,” Dr. Abu Luhom said.
