RIYADH, Nov. 5 (YPA) – Ministers in Hadi’s government on Tuesday abstained from attending the signing ceremony of the so-called “Riyadh agreement” this evening between the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council and the pro-Saudi government of Hadi.
The agreement was signed by Salem al-Khanbashi for Hadi’s government, and Nasser al-Khubbaji for the transitional council, in a clear division of interests between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the southern provinces.
Minister of transport in Hadi’s government Saleh al-Jabwani revealed that he and interior minister Ahmed al-Maisari did not attend the agreement signing.
Al-Jabwani and al-Maisari returned to the city of Sayoun after a tour included the provinces of Hadramout, Shabwa, Marib and Mahra.
Al-Jabwani said in a tweet Tuesday in Twitter that “the bet is on the field where the cavalry is located”, indicating that the loss would be overwhelming for anyone betting on non-Yemen, in reference to the southern transitional council.
