SANAA, Oct. 8 (YPA) – Yemeni army spokesman Brigadier Yahya Serie on Tuesday said that Saudi-led coalition forces and mercenaries in Hodeidah province committed 1,594 violations of cease-fire during August and September, bringing the total number to 30,597 violations since Sweden Agreement.
During a press conference held on Tuesday afternoon in Sanaa, Brigadier Sarie said “the army forces and popular committees have carried out their obligations according to the Sweden agreement and the other party has to implement its obliges.”
He pointed that the army forces and popular committees might be forced to respond to attacks on citizens of Hodeidah by targeting posts and sensitive positions of the enemy on the western coast.
“Any military escalation would be responded and every attack would be met with its level and size,” the spokesman declared.
He explained that the suffocating siege came at the head of hostilities and is considered as a military action. “We have the right to take the necessary to lift the siege, including military strikes in depth of the enemy.”
“We reiterate that the talk on peace is not commensurate with the continuation of the siege, which causes the death of many of Yemeni people,” said Sarei.
