UNICEF launches vaccination campaign to fight diphtheria in Yemen

SANAA, Sept. 4 (YPA) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced on Wednesday launching a vaccination campaign to fight diphtheria in Yemen.

The UNICEF said in a statement on its Twitter account that health campaign would target about 2.8 million children under the age of five in Hodiedah, Dhamar, Ibb, Jawf, Marib and Bayda province.

The health sector in Yemen is inflicted heavy damage due to the worsening conflict, which has led to spread of epidemics and diseases and a large number of facilities are closed.
