National delegation’s head meets deputy UN envoy for Yemen

MUSCAT, July 30 (YPA) – Head of the national negotiating delegation Mohammed Abdulsalam on Tuesday met in the Omani capital Muscat with UN deputy special envoy for Yemen Maeen Sharim.

The meeting discussed proposals to overcome the stalemate in the implementation of the remaining points of Hodeidah agreement, the prisoners file and the reopening of Sanaa International Airport, in order to pave the way for a new round of consultations and the resumption of comprehensive political discussions and transitional arrangements.

The meeting also touched on the escalating regional tension and the importance of entering into a comprehensive calm that would help in reaching a political settlement having positive effects on the local and regional levels.
