SANAA, June 24 (YPA) – The US Geological Survey announced on Monday a 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia’s Tanimbar islands.
The US Geological Survey added that the earthquake occurred 288 kilometers southwest of Saumlaki village at a depth of 208.3 kilometers.
In a related context, the Japanese Meteorological Agency reported that an earthquake with an initial magnitude of 5.5 degrees hit eastern Japan on Monday morning.
The epicenter of the quake was off the coast of Chiba Prefecture, bordering Tokyo, the agency said.
The agency did not issue a tsunami warning and there were no reports of damage, according to Reuters.
