4 killed in helicopter crash in Ukraine
SANAA, May 30 (YPA) – A Ukrainian military helicopter crashed in the west of the country, killing four soldiers, the Ukrainian army said in a statement on Thursday.
“The Mi-8 helicopter crashed in the western Rovno area during a training flight late on Wednesday, killing three crew members and the commander of the 16th Airborne Brigade of the Ground Forces,” AFP agency said, quoting a Ukrainian army statement.
The cause of the accident was not yet clear.
The new Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky offered his condolences and the army chief of staff, Ruslan Khomchak, gave the task of overseeing the investigation.
“Our army should not lose people during the exercises and training,” the Ukrainian president’s office quoted him as saying.
