HADHRAMAUT, May 3 (YPA) – At least six people were killed and six others injured on Friday when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Hadhramaut province, eastern Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
According to the sources, the explosion took place at the eastern entrance of the city of al-Qattan.”
“Unknown people planted an explosive device in the area of ”Al-‘aineen” on the eastern entrance of Al-Qatan city in Wadi Hadramawt and exploded during the presence of civilians, killing six and injuring six others in an initial toll,” one of the local sources said
The wounded were transferred to a nearby hospital in the city, the sources added.
The Eastern and Southern provinces under the control of the United Arab Emirates’ occupation forces have been witnessing major security chaos, and assassinations carried out by armed factions loyal to the coalition, against Yemeni military and security officers, as well as civilian targets.
Since the UAE forces took over the southern region in 2016, assassinations and security disorder have been rampaging in these provinces.
