SANAA, April 29 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutwakil on Sunday discussed with Head of ICRC’s delegation in Sanaa Franz Rauchenstein aspects of coordination to support efforts to provide aid.
In the meeting, the Minister called on the ICRC to provide field hospitals with equipments, medicines and incentives and to organized workshops and training courses for the rehabilitation of medical personnel, after the collapse of the health system in Yemen because of the war and siege imposed by Saudi-led coalition on Yemen.
Dr. al-Mutwakil voiced his ministry’s readiness to facilitate the work of the ICRC’s delegation in Yemen.
For his part, head of ICRC’s delegation confirmed that the Commission would continue to assist the Yemeni people and the health sector, especially in light of the disastrous humanitarian and health conditions experienced by the country.
