Water Minister meets representatives of technical committee to fight cholera

SANAA, April 22 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment Nabil al-Wazir on Monday met with representatives of the Ministry in membership of the technical committee to combat cholera epidemic.

The meeting discussed the topics related to the committee’s tasks and enhancing the coordination between the various actors in the field of cholera control.

The committee’s members briefed the minister on the ongoing efforts in the fight against the epidemic, which are followed up and discussed in partnership with the supporting bodies represented by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

A number of decisions were taken during the meeting; most notably to prepare a comprehensive report on the current efforts and interventions carried out by the Ministry’s institutions and raise it to the Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, as well as holding a daily meeting of the ministry’s team.
