Emergency campaign to combat cholera in Mahweet

MAHWEET, April 6 (YPA) – The Rapid Response Team in Mahweet province on Saturday carried out an emergency field campaign to combat the cholera epidemic in Souk Al-Ahad area in the district of Jabal Al-Mahweet.

The campaign aimed at inspecting the water sources and studying the general environmental situation of the area, according to Yemen News Agency (Saba).

During its field visits, the team was briefed on the needs that should be provided to improve health services and to combat epidemics, especially cholera.

These efforts come in light of the increasing epidemiological indicators of cholera in Mahweet, where the latest reports indicate that the number of infected cases has reached 8,410 cases since the beginning of this year, including 209 cases from outside the province.
