Joint committee to follow up implementation of Parliament recommendations to gov’t

SANAA, April 6 (YPA) – The Parliament on Saturday reviewed members of the joint government-parliamentary committee, which the two sides agreed form last week to follow up the implementation of the parliament recommendations to the government.

The committee, formed from several parliamentarians and ministers will be in charge of following up the implementation of the recommendations with regard to:

1. High prices of foodstuffs and medicines.
2. The government’s plan to meet the requirements of the holy month of Ramadan in foodstuffs and basic needs.
3. High prices of oil derivatives, and providing the parliament with copies of import contracts and prices of stock exchanges related to this.
4. Measures taken by the government to combat the spread of epidemics, especially cholera and swine flu.
5. Continuing provision of domestic gas and improving the distribution mechanism for citizens and maintenance of gas cylinders.
6- The size of foreign aid, including food and medicines, arriving in Yemen and the extent of its safety and the fairness of its distribution to its beneficiaries.
7. Actions taken by the government regarding traffic problems.
8. Payment of salaries of State employees.
