Deputy FM condemns UN’s silence on Saudi-led coalition’s violations in Hodeidah

SANAA, April 3 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister in the National Salvation Government, Hussein al-Izzi stressed Sanaa’s keenness on peace and its continued support to the Committee for Coordination and redeployment of troops in Hodeidah and the United Nations Observer Mission in compliance with the agreement of Sweden

He also criticized contempt of the coalition and its militants, who had killed one soldier on Tuesday under the UN silence towards this serious violation.

Coalition militants opened fire Tuesday while facilitating the transition of the Chairman of the Redeployment Committee with a UN team to the coalition-controlled areas, killing one soldier.

“As part of our concern for peace and our continued support for the efforts of Coordinating Committee, today we have opened our front lines to facilitate the crossing of the Chairman of the Committee into mercenary areas, the second visit within four days to persuade them to respect the agreement,” said deputy foreign minister  on his twitter account .

“In a clear disregard for the United Nations, mercenaries have started sniping and shelling, leading to the fall of a martyr, and the United Nations is keeping silent as usual,” he added.

The coalition and its militants are trying to blow up the Sweden agreement and resume the war in Hodeidah with announced US and British support, which was earlier voiced by the foreign ministers of Britain and America following the wave of renewed war in Hodeidah and “the option of military decisiveness if the implementation of the Sweden agreement is stalled.”
