HADRAMAWT, April 2 (YPA) -At least four soldiers loyal to the Saudi-led coalition were killed and two others injured on Tuesday, when an improvised explosive device exploded in Hadhramaut province, eastern Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
According to sources, gunmen believed to be affiliated with al-Qaeda targeted members of the Hadhramaut Battalion, which is a part of the First Region pro-occupation military in the area of Al-Sum Bin Hammam in Seiyun city. They attacked the troops with an improvised explosive device, causing a number of dead and wounded.
The gunmen subsequently looted weapons of the battalion’s personnel, shot them after the explosion took place and then fled the scene, one of the sources said.
According to the source, the wounded were taken to Seiyun General Hospital, which described their wounds as dangerous.
The occupied governorates have beeing witnessing major security chaos and the spread of militants from al-Qaeda and rival factions.
