SANAA, April 2 (YPA) -Senior military commanders in the capital of Sana’a have met on Monday with Sheikh Ahmed Dirham al-Shalef, a dignitary of Nihem district who has left the invading coalition’s ranks in Ma’rib in order to join the ranks of Yemen’s resistance against the Saudi-led coalition.
Head of the Military Intelligence, Major General Abdullahi Yahya al-Hakim, along with the director of the Department of Moral Guidance of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, welcomed the return of Sheikh Ahmed Dirham to Sana’a.
In the meeting, Major General Abdullahi Yahya al-Hakim praised the position of al-Sahlief, noting that “the Yemeni tribal leader has played an active and influential role during the battle against aggression and the advancement of fronts, which is an honorable position for the tribe and for its long history.”
Al-Hakim renewed “the call for those who are left behind and who stand in the ranks of aggression to return to the national ranks and benefit from the amnesty resolution.”
“Those who will return, they will be fully secured and their passage will be facilitated through all points until to their villages and families,” Major General Abdullah Yahya al-Hakim said in the meeting, the official Yemen News Agency Saba reported.
For his part, Sheikh al-Shalef expressed his “pride in the national positions of political and military leadership and all the steadfastness in the battle of pride and dignity in confronting aggression.”
Sheikh al-Shalef, who has arrived in the capital Sanaa on Saturday with large groups of fighters, defected from the coalition after “realising the truth of their goals and ambitions.”
Prior, the Sheikh had been arrested by coalition armed factions and thrown in one of the prisons of the so-called Islah party (Muslim Brotherhood) in Ma’rib City after they accused him with several malicious charges in order to eliminate him.
